Carlien Roodink

During my Political Science and Organizational Studies at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Nijmegen I couldn’t image the things I do nowadays.

In 1991, I started my professional career at international trading & payment systems at Rabobank Nederland. After a few years I moved to the internal audit department and graduated as a certified public auditor (Dutch: Register Accountant).

I operated as a controller, compliance officer, consultant, ICT advisor and CFO for different organizations, mainly in the financial (Achmea, KPMG, local Rabobank) but also in the public sector (Kadaster).

Starting in 2007, I acted as a senior advisor at the Dutch Central Bank and after 2 years I became manager financial logistics at Holland Financial Centre. In both jobs, I was involved as one of the initiators of the national program on Service Innovation and ICT (SII). In 2010 an independent foundation SII was created. I was hired as an independent professional for the post of program director.

Since then I worked for several other organizations with a focus on innovation (IIP Create, Amsterdam Economic Board, Holland FinTech). I give lecturers and have a portfolio of several consultancy assignments. I have a special interest in: Alternative Finance & Crowdfunding, FinTech, Sharing Economy, Community & Virtual Currencies, Open Data & Open Spending.

I currently work for CrowdfundingHub. CrowdfundingHub is the European expertise centre for alternative finance and community finance. In April 2016 CrowdfundingHub officially launched.

Other activities:

From 2010 until 2014 I was a member of the City Council of Amsterdam for D66. In 2013 I joined the advisory council of and the board of the Open State Foundation.

In February 2013 I published a book about crowdsourcing, co-creation and Open Data, titled 'Nederland Opent'. In 2016 I published the report "Current State of Crowdfunding in Europe".
